While speaking with Games Radar earlier this month, Infinity Ward’s design director, Geoff Smith, said that Warzone will be updated with the new games’ content after they release, although he didn’t clarify whether or not this will be an annual thing, or if it’ll be a one-time deal. Instead, they’ll add assets from the latest Call of Duty game into the already existing application, and those assets will likely be added when the game launches in November.
Modern Warfare’s Warzone will continue on after Black Ops Cold War is released, as Treyarch won’t make another free to play battle royale, or even attempt to expand upon their previous one: Blackout. Unfortunately, though, that’s all we know about the mode for now, but we should have more details shortly before or following the game’s multiplayer reveal next month. The upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have a Zombies mode that’ll receive more content post-launch. But, there’s been a few small details that have come out regarding COD’s other modes, including Zombies and the popular Warzone. So far, the story has been the focus of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailers, with the devs promising to reveal the game’s multiplayer details on September 9. At long last, Activision finally announced, to the surprise of no one, that the long-rumored Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a real thing, and that it’ll be released on current-gen consoles on November 13.
